Q: How old were you when you started playing golf, and what made you fall in love with it?

A: I would say I seriously became a golfer in fifth grade. I had played before hand, just not seriously. I couldn’t pinpoint a specific aspect of the game that makes me love it any more than I do, but if I had to guess, it’s probably because I’m good at it.

Q: What are your goals for this season?

A: My individual goals are to win sectional, regionals, and win state. I have been practicing extremely hard all winter, and hoping that it pays off. Team goals are lofty as well. This year’s team has the makings to be the best in MV history. We want a sectional victory badly. In the gymnasium there’s no banner for boys golf, we’re looking to change that this year. Post-sectionals goals conclude at competing at regionals, and fighting for a state finals appearance. Going there last year as an individual was really awesome, now it’s time to bring five guys to Prairie View (state finals course). Some of the course goals are to achieve academic excellence as a team, and to grow and become better individuals.

Q: Tell me about your plans for college; where will you be going, will you be playing golf, what will you be studying?

A: Just recently I committed to Indiana University – Purdue University Fort Wayne to continue my education and play golf. The atmosphere they are building up there is amazing. One of a kind. They’re bringing in the best players in the state of Indiana to play. Should be a memorable time. I plan on majoring in business, possibly with entrepreneurship or marketing. I can’t wait.
